Purpose

The goal of this mini-workshop is to discuss recent developments and issues related to massive stars, core-collapse supernovae, and the associated nucleosynthesis of elements. They play fundamental roles in the evolution of early galaxies and serve as one of the primary targets in the era of multi-messenger astronomy through the electromagnetic, neutrino, and gravitational wave emissions. As we hope that new ideas, directions, and potential collaborations may be identified through the discussions during the mini-workshop, we plan to have just roughly 6 talks within two days. Each talk can cover one specific topic for ~ 50-60 minutes, plus in addition, 30-40 minutes time for rather informal but in-depth discussions.

There will be no registration fee for the workshop. The number of particapants are limited to 30-50, depending on the actual budget and space limit. You are welcome to submit a talk title on registration. Please register as soon as possible to receive full consideration.

You can also request the booking for a guest room inside the campus of Academia Sinica. As the number of rooms are limited, priority will be given for earlier registrants. Finalcial support for shared double-room, for local participants (postdocs and students), may be availble on request.

The mini-workshop will address the following topics:

  • massive star evolution and their nucleosynthesis
  • central engine, neutrinos, nucleosynthesis, and gravitational waves of CCSNe
  • metal enrichment of CCSNe and metal-poor star observations
  • various exotic & super-luminous SNe
